It’s a nickname for Antarctica.
I had to wait till I got back from the other pole (the Arctic one) before I could send you this post. Yes… I have a thing for the ends of the earth, they inspire music and make me consider how little we know, how small we are and how big and beautiful this planet is. The album is officially released… twelve solo piano pieces.
Some compositions are recent, some go back over ten years, many are new while others are re-recorded for this album just as solo piano. This journey includes two well-known movie theme covers: ‘Falling’ (Twin Peaks Theme), ‘To Meet’ (Chinese pop song) and a Sonatina by Muzio Clementi, in addition to my own compositions.
All are recorded as solo piano on either a Steinway B or at home on my 97 key Australian made Stuart and Sons piano
